- If it is, just close Kies.
- Put your phone in download mode(Now press volume down key+ home key + power button together simultaneously for few seconds until you get haptic feedback from your phone i.e. until your phone vibrates to enter download mode. Now press volume up key to confirm that you want to proceed ahead when asked to do so on the screen.)

- Click on PDA button and browse to the firmware extracted folder and select the firmware file.
- Choose the tar.md5 in the pda section. Leave rest untouched.
- Flash.
Once it completes,
After completing everything, you’ll find that all your previous apps, messages, contacts are intact. Well, don’t be hopeful because you might face several problems like no network connectivity after flashing jelly bean firmware on Galaxy S Advance, or the UI screen very laggy, or excessive RAM usage, etc. To solve such issues and to experience speed Jellybean butter effect, you have to factory reset your phone.
So, Switch Off your phone.
Press Volume up key + Home button + power key together simultaneously to enter recovery mode.
Use volume up/down key to navigate through the options and power key to select/execute a particular option.
Select Wipe Cache here.

ReplyDeleteYou do not need to take backup for flashing . All your data is intact after flashing.
ReplyDeleteBut before Factory reset you should take a backup as it would be wiping your phone completely.
To be on the safe side always take data backup.

ReplyDeleteYou cannot do a complete backup of phone but SD Card.
ReplyDeleteFor phone you can take back up of Messages Contacts Applications by other software available in Google Play.
You have to re install all softwares once you do factory reset

ReplyDeleteIts a serbian version but can be applied to any region. Yes you need to do factory reset only if you face issues like network problem or laggy screens. I would suggest wipe cache option atleast to make sure your device repartion and increase the ram of your device.

DeleteYes you can go back to Gingerbread without loosing the data but don't rely on Samsung and take phone backup.
DeleteI would recommend Factory reset for the smooth functioning of phone.
Refer this link to Downgrade to Gingerbread.

Ok
ReplyDeleteBut this version (serbian) is applied for the italian people?
Yes you can apply this update in all regions :)
Deletebut this makes you lose the smartphone's warranty?
ReplyDeleteNo your smartphone's warranty is intact and you donot lose it as you are not rooting the device you are just flashing it.
DeleteRooting Voids the warranty not Flashing
Also you can come back to Gingerbread without rooting by following this post
Refer this link to Downgrade to Gingerbread.

ah ok Thank you =)
DeleteBut to return to Gingerbread smartphone always keep the warranty .. right? sorry but I recently purchased and would like to be 100% sure
DeleteYes that also requires no rooting.
DeleteJust remember one thing Flashing Doesn't Void your warranty.
Rooting voids it.
So even if you flash your device with Jellybean 4.1.2 and if it creates a problem in your phone you can take it to service center and ask them to install GB on that as you are still in Warranty and officially they have to help. :)
